Friona

We had a good fast trip to Friona, Jaylee, Kolin, and I . Jason and Wes are still in CO hunting.

When I left Stormi, I was very encouraged. She is listening. I have to keep encouraging. She is cooling it with this guy for the time being, but her heart is still with him. The prayers worked, and they will work. To God be all the glory.

Please keep praying for her. I know we all have so many that need our attention before the Father. I am praying for you and love each one of you.

Hope things are good for Barrett and Brandon. Frieda, hope you have a good week and realize you are a great blessing to those heathen kids :). Sarah and Heather, many prayers for you as well. Sarah esp. for the desires of your heart to be clear. What about you Susan? Praying for a healthy baby and Kanyon!

Barrett's Final Pledge Night

B called this afternoon to ask us to pray for him tonight. The club members are taking the pledges to somewhere near Floydada for their final night of terrorizing. He expects to have to walk 13 miles tonight, to have to name the first 10 presidents of Koininia, and who knows what else. He had 13 points when the week began. As he goofed up, he lost points. So, he was going into the night with 1 point. He thinks he is the pledge who has goofed up the most. He figures that it won't be the end of his life if he does not make it into the club. He expects to know by 1:00 a.m. if he made it. We prayed over the phone with him and expect to hear from him tomorrow.
Brandon will leave after church to head back to NY. Yea! Pullo will go too! That dog is so pretty, but such an undisciplined pup. I have discovered that I can stare him down:)

Checking in and Cheers to Leslee

Good afternoon, girls...and boys, too, if you're reading over our shoulders. This is my first blogging adventure, and I'm looking forward to keeping up...praying together...and enjoying sharing life with each of you.

It was so cool, Leslee to read that you and Jason are working on reading your Bibles each day this year. How's it coming so far? Are you reading through...working on a time-line...or what? Curtis and I have been studying together each morning after the kids go to school. It's such a nice time to share together. Sarah, your friend Rex is Rex Boyles, yes? He's such a dear man. I got to know him while working at LCU doing camps. Jaymie, I have to agree with Leslee...the family picture was great. Thanks for sharing with all of us. I'm still bummed that I had to stay so far away from you guys during the Thanksgiving break.

I would have to ask that you all pray for me as we head into the spring semester at school. As you know, it's TAKS time. We have already started the TAKS push, even though the math tests aren't until the last week of April for high school. That means that at least two nights a week, starting in March probably, we will take our show on the road and tutor the kids in Sweetwater and Snyder for three hours after school...getting home about ten on those nights. It is really good for the students, and I can see the improvement, but it has been such a drain on me, personally, since I am away from Curtis, Caleb and Hannah so much during that time. One end of our building houses DAEP (disciplinary alternative educational placement) for several of our districts. One of our districts has us keep their kids an extra two hours each day, so twice a week, I stay after school from three to five with those guys doing extra tutoring in math. Again, it is good for the students, but....

Anyway, I'm not trying to sound whiney here at all....it is good for the students...and I enjoy it for the most-part. I would just like an extra lifting up in prayer that I will stay the course set before me. I would like to get through the semester with my patience still intact...as well as my grace and dignity. Above all, I would like to keep my tongue controlled with my family at home...as they are the ones who are most likely to find out "what I really think."

Leslee, thank you for starting this blog. I love you all. --Heather

My Sister

ok, here goes.
Stormi is doing things that are wrong and she knows it and she is lying about it.
I am going to Friona tomorrow to talk to her, and it may not be pretty. She is involved with a man who is otherwise married. It is an old flame of hers from Amarillo, they "connected" through the net. I too know him and when things did not add up, through mutual friends, I contacted his wife. (she needs our prayers as well, her name is Jennifer Collins and lives in Happy)
When he found out I had talked to Jennifer, he called Stormi-which drove a wedge before I could talk to her- and he sent me an email telling me I was playing with fire and I better quit throwing stones because I was not without sin.
His wife had warned me not to be around him without Jason because he is prone to bouts of rage, and before I told Jason what she had said, he felt like the message was somewhat threatening.
Satan is alive and well, and he has his hooks in Stormi. We will stay at Jyl's house, but pray for our safety and for God not to let Stormi over to her own lusts...
This guy is a user and that is the nicest thing I can say. I am very worried.
I love you all! The best part of being together is seeing a glimpse of Heaven.....

ps---good to see you Heather
BTW---Sarah and Frieda, if we get it together, woudn't that family ranch outfit be almost like not working?

New semester

Barrett is pledging a club at LCU this week. He has to memorize scripture, names of people etc. He is excited but challenged by the stuff the club has set before pledges. I'd like prayers for him to begin the year strong, to form social relationships that will sustain him 40-50 years from now, to be able to manage the singing and his academics at the same time.
Brandon is currently here. He is trying to take the PTSD meds less and be able to "handle" what happens in his life. He dislikes the fact that the meds "cause weight gain". He will leave for NY on Sunday after church. He loves his dog, Pullo, the Doberman. I think he is a good therapy dog. Please continue to pray for Brandon's legal difficulties.
At this point in my life, I do not want to work any longer. That is an impossibility, so pray that I will quit moping about that and find contentment in each moment of life. Discontent I think is useful to Satan.

thinking about the new year... making plans to be better this year..
thinking of all my blessing... and I count each one of my family as the blessings in my life..
Jason and I are planning on trying to read the Bible every day this year. Pray for us, so that we will remain faithful. I hope each one of you will choose to spend time in God's word, and grow closer to Him this year. We love you!!
